Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
Valencia CF coach Rubén Baraja gave a press conference ahead of Matchday 6 of the LaLiga EA Sports season, which takes place this Saturday against UD Almería at the Power Horse Stadium.
The match against UD Almería
It is a very important away game. We have just had a tough game away from home in Vitoria. It is an important test, so we have to face it with a great mentality and be competitive. I feel that Almería should have more points than they do at the moment. It will be very demanding in all facets. Away from home we have to continue with the performance we have shown at home. It is very important to start games well. Our mentality is to try to win. The most important thing is to once again have a clear identity, maintain continuity in the match and manage the different situations that may arise.
Absentees
Jesús Vázquez has some discomfort and we are looking to find out what is causing it. He will not be able to play against UD Almería. Paulista, Foulquier and Canós will not be there either, as well as Alberto Marí.
Avoiding inconsistency with young players
We always insist on the collective. They are young, but if they are involved in the group they become 'infected' with that mentality. It is a process, but the idea is to try to accelerate it to be able to compete and perform well against anyone.
The match against Atleti
We did things well in that game. Sometimes in LaLiga, even by doing things well you don't win the game. We had a very complete game in terms of intensity and competitiveness.
Yaremchuk
We are looking forward to seeing him participating with the team. Tomorrow we will evaluate whether he plays.
Rotations
There are three games in a week coming up, so we will have variations and we will manage the resources we have. Everybody is going to participate, and we believe in all of them. The collective is what makes you grow.
Mosquera
He is a player with a lot of talent and now the opportunity has come for him. It depends on performance and this is not just a question one day. Consistency is how you grow as a player. His challenge is to repeat that performance in the next few games.
Pepelu
He has had more involvement than others, but there are also players who can play in his position, such as Hugo Guillamón. The important thing is that everyone can participate, especially in weeks where we play several games.
Hugo Guillamón
He is in our plans. At the beginning of the season, he came back later after having played in the Under-21s European Championships. He knows the club, he has a good attitude and when it's his turn to come in, I'm sure he will do well. He has to fight for his opportunity. We try to keep everyone very involved. We have already talked about how the squad is small and, therefore, everyone has to participate.
Away games
In Seville we won by playing a complete game and in Vitoria the team fought until the end, but we got no reward for it. In Almería we want the team to show the same personality as we have at home.
